Extraction Method: Extracted directly from the tree
Description / Color / Consistency: Pale yellow to yellow clear liquid, light in consistency. As the oil ages, especially when exposed to air, the color darkens, brownish at times and slight turbidity may be observed.
Aromatic Summary / Note / Strength of Aroma: A soft woody base note with a slight hint of sweetness to it.
Blends With: Copaiba Balsam Essential Oil blends well with oils from the floral and spice families, oils with Oriental bases, and with the aphrodisiac oils – Rose, Jasmine, Sandalwood, and Frankincense. It can also support the softer qualities of oils such as Ylang-ylang or Vanilla.
Product Abstract: Copaiba Balsam Resin is extracted from trees growing in the wild. They are found mainly in the South American rain forests, particularly in Brazil, Columbia, Peru and Venezuela. The resin is harvested by tapping or drilling holes into the trunk of the tree, much like how rubber trees are tapped. Although this resin is often referred to as balsam, it is not a true balsam. Copaiba Balsam Oil has been used historically as a fixative in perfumes and colognes.
Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: When I first smelled this EO, it wasn't as strong as I thought it was going to be, it is very mellow with earthy undertones similar to Patchouli but it is much sweeter and warmer. I love this one so much not just for the scent but because of its medicinal properties too. would recommend.

Rating: This was not at all what I expected it to smell like, but it is a useful oil for skin. The smell is quite potent and overpowering for my liking, but it’s functionality makes me love it. . I’ve added it to my healing balm (shea with frankincense, lavender and geranium). It is incredible! I use it, diluted, on the jawline of my teething children. It really has helped a lot! I’m so glad to have this oil in my cabinet.

Rating: I quite like this oil. I got it because my cousin (who is studying herbalism and natural healing) recommended that I get it for my multiple pains, including pain from arthritis and some strange neurological pain. Tonight I was mixing various EOs, and surprisingly, after inhaling this Copaiba straight out of the bottle, and then rubbing it straight on my sorest areas, I did seem to feel better. (Just ten minutes earlier, inhaling other EOs including citrus seemed to make the pain sharper.) It has a very mild scent. I just now tried adding a drop to a mouth rinse and found that it tasted sort of camphorous, vaguely of fennel and rosemary and something else I can't place. I'm glad I ordered it!

Rating: Do not over-look this oil simply because of it's smell, it great medicinal value. Similar to aspirin, this oil is a great pain reliever for inflamed muscle tissue and has analgesic properties. Blended with black pepper and carrier oil would make a great massage oil. Working on my feet for a solid week ( not my regular schedule) my knees are achy and inflamed. I just used it on my knees with Frankincense and Chamomile and feel much better already in a mere 5 minutes.

Rating: I'm really surprised that no one has mentioned this before. But this oil is the strongest anti-inflammatory known to man, bar none. It is even stronger than Ibuprofen or even Cortisone, with no side effects. It is also a strong anti-bacterial. It is more calming than sandalwood and better for scarring and wounds than helichrysum. I also can't believe this price, it's practically a gift. The oil is also very good for wrinkles and sagging skin. I only bought 15 mL but next time I plan to buy at least 100 mL maybe even 500 mL for the price. I am now using the oil in everything. It does have a sweet, woodsy honey-like smell. It is very faint though. But for what this oil does for the body I couldn't care less what it smells like. Considering the price of sandalwood and helichrysum and that this works even better, the quality and price can't be beat. Congratulations NDA you guys are the kings of quality in my book and I don't impress easily. I have been consistently bowled over by your products. You are my favorite place to shop. Oh, I also forgot to mention that copaiba is a magnifying essential oil. It increases the strength and effects of whatever you mix with it. I hope you never run out of it.

Rating: What a delightful, mild base note! Not overwhelming at all, slightly sweet. Love this one.

Rating: This is the first time I have used Copaiba balsam. It has very subtle sweet honey musk notes. I added this to a perfume blend which included jasmine sambac and lotus which worked wonderfully well without overpowering these floral notes. It doesn't have much of an aroma in the bottle but you begin to get the complex notes on a perfume strip and it transformed my perfume blend rounding it out and bridgeing the gaps.

Rating: Vanillic, balsamic and resinous, this oil is used in perfumery as a fixative, but has a delightful scent in its own right. The price is good, and it will add depth, mystery and longevity to any floriental, amber, spice, wood or oriental type blend. I love it for the mild vanilla powdery scent it lends, but by itself it is fairly subtle and works better in a blender, like benzoin but more mysterious...
Rating: This oil didn't smell like much in the bottle, and I was surprised after all the great reviews it had. But once it was mixed with other oils, the sweet base note came out to play and it played very well indeed.

Rating: This oil is so subtle that it must be good for something . There is that pencil aroma but again it's subtle. I just wish it was pouring out more quickly as I don't have much time and patience for it now.

Rating: I don't like my copaiba balsam, it really smell like pencil... I've made soy candles with cedarwood (Atlas), not a good combination, the pencil scent is too overpowering... 'll try with vanilla or flower EO but I am not convinced...
