THE SCENT STORY - WORN SUEDE
Worn Suede is the most tactile fragrance in the collection.
It opens with a faint fruited brightness and a thread of saffron, which together keep the leather from reading as new or raw. Underneath, the suede accord is soft-napped rather than polished, closer to the inside of a jacket than to a showroom.
Amber and pale woods sit beneath it, warm and unhurried, giving the leather somewhere to rest. The effect is less a smell than a texture. It feels like something you have had for years.

Worn Suede is part of our Slow Hours Collection, and it was the fragrance that defined the brief for the rest.
Leather in fragrance tends toward one of two extremes: sharp and tarry, or smooth to the point of being synthetic. Neither is what a soft suede actually smells like. We wanted the version that has been handled: warmed by skin, slightly dulled, with its edges gone.
The raspberry and saffron at the top are doing structural work rather than decorative work. Without them the suede reads flat and slightly animalic. With them, at trace level, the whole thing lifts. We kept the amber restrained. Leather and amber together very easily become a heavy oriental, and this collection is about warmth that stays close to the body rather than filling a room.
This is a fragrance about wear rather than about newness, which is a surprisingly difficult thing to compose.
