THE SCENT STORY - BARE OAT
Bare Oat is the quietest thing in the collection.
There is no top note in the usual sense. It begins where most fragrances end, with a soft, milky warmth that is present immediately and changes very little.
Oat gives it a grain-like dryness, almond skin adds a faint nuttiness, and neither is sweet.
Clean musk and pale woods carry it through, holding the temperature without adding anything. The result reads less as a fragrance than as a condition of the skin.
It is the closest thing in the collection to wearing nothing at all, done deliberately.

Bare Oat is part of our Slow Hours Collection, and it is the composition the whole collection is calibrated against.
Skin scents are the hardest brief in fragrance because there is nowhere to hide. Every note is exposed. Any sweetness reads as cloying, any musk reads as laundry, and the whole thing collapses into blandness if the structure is not right.
We worked on texture rather than on notes. Oat gives a dry, slightly powdery body that stops the lactonic warmth from turning into dessert. Almond is at trace and should never be identifiable; it is there to add dimension to the milk, nothing more. What we were after is the smell of warmth itself. Fabric that has been worn, skin after a bath, the particular softness of something that has been close to the body for a while.
This is the one in the collection that customers will wear on its own and the one that makes every other fragrance here work better in a blend.
