🧪 Equipment
- Double boiler (or heat-safe glass measuring cup + saucepan)
- Digital scale
- Stainless steel stirring spoon or glass rod
- 10 empty lip balm tubes (5g size)
- Disposable pipette or small dropper
- Sanitizer — 70% isopropyl alcohol for tools and tubes

Sanitize
Wipe down all tools, tubes, and your work surface with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Let air dry. Stand empty tubes upright in a holder or snug-fit tray.

Weigh the base
On a sanitized digital scale, measure 49g of Lip Balm Base into your heat-safe glass container.

Melt gently
Place the container in a double boiler over low–medium heat. Stir occasionally until fully melted and clear (about 5–10 minutes). Keep below 70°C / 158°F.

Cool slightly
Remove from heat and let the melted base cool for 1–2 minutes. It should still be fluid but not piping hot — this protects the flavour.

Add the flavour
Weigh and add 1g of your chosen Lip Balm Flavour. Stir gently but thoroughly for 20–30 seconds to fully disperse.

Pour quickly
Using a pipette or steady pour, fill each tube to just above the rim. The balm contracts slightly as it sets, leaving a perfect dome.

Set undisturbed
Let tubes set at room temperature for 30–45 minutes. Avoid the fridge — it can cause cracking or sweating on the surface.

Cap, label & present
Wipe any excess from the rim with a clean cotton swab before capping. Wrap, tag, and gift with love. 💕

Things to Know
- ★ Stick with 2% flavour. Per the Lip Balm Base product page, exceeding the recommended addition amount can destabilize the formula and affect viscosity, feel, and absorption.
- ★ Want a tinted balm? Add a small pinch of Nature Tint Colour at the same time as the flavour. A soft pink works beautifully with Strawberry or Cherry.
- ★ Shelf life: Approximately 12 months when stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- ★ Patch-test first. Always patch-test finished products on a small area of skin before regular use, especially when gifting.
