Description / Color / Consistency: A thin, clear, pale yellow liquid.
Aromatic Summary / Note / Strength of Aroma: A base note with a medium aroma, Ylang Ylang has a sweet, exotic, floral scent that is one of the most sought-after.
Product Abstract: Also known as Flower Of Flowers, Ylang Ylang is a tall tropical tree about 20 meters (60 feet) high with large fragrant, pink, mauve or yellow flowers; yellow heads are viewed as being the best in terms of quality. There are several grades of Ylang Ylang Essential Oil, which are extracted at different times during the flower's lengthy distillation. These grades are referred to as Extra, I, II, and III. Ylang Ylang is best suited for use in the perfumery and skincare industries. It was a popular ingredient of hair preparations in Europe and was known as Macassar Oil. The word anti-macassar originated from this, since an anti-maccasar was used to keep hair oil from staining upholstered furniture. In Indonesia Ylang Ylang has traditionally been strewn on the beds of newlyweds.
Cautions: Dilute before use; May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. It can also cause sensitivity on some people; excessive use of it may lead to headaches and nausea. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: This batch of Ylang Ylang 1 is really wonderful. Just about as perfect as you can get for Ylang 1.

Rating: I have smelled Ylang Ylang from other brands and was turned off. But since I was happy with other products from NDA I took my chances and bought this one. Turns out I love it and use it in my diffuser at night. When blended with lavender and clary sage it's a wonderful soothing slightly sweet floral aroma, only 2-3 drop is needed. I will be purchasing again. It's a good quality oil.
Rating: I only use this EO in one blend so don't get to shop for it so often and was very happy to find this one very beautiful, with a floral depth I had not yet found in other ylang ylang.
Rating: This ylang ylang essential oil is absolutely delicious and I’m very picky with my ylang ylang.
The #1 smells just as fresh, sweet and seductive as the blooming ylang ylang trees, growing in my friend’s backyard on a tropical island in Bocas Del Toro, Panama.
Rating: This Ylang Ylang is just wonderful. Extremely strong and ripe. It will overpower other scents very easily, so a little bit and it will be just right. Now I'm curious about testing the Ylang Ylang 3.

Rating: This is the perfect oil for people who like the smell of lilies. Unfortunately I am not one of those people, but it will remain in my collection for those that are fans. I do like it blended with other oils, and it is a strong and bold scent on its' own.

Rating: i just bought this and it smells really bad.... dont even want to use it.....
Rating: I tried all the Ylang Ylangs to compare. Their smells go from (most complex, first distillation, least refined) Extra - #1 - #2 - #3 (most refined, final distillation). I actually like the #3 the best (most refined, more "simple" floral fragrance), then the Extra (has a complexity that the 1,2,3's lack. I didn't care for the #1 & #2 as much. But all work well blended.

Rating: I love this Ylang Ylang. It's absolutely my favorite Ylang Ylang so far though I've not tried YY Extra yet. It is wonderfully exotic, quite strong... so I simply use less. I think it's amazing!
Rating: This is a very strong EO, so a little goes a long way! It is very apparent that NDA oils are high quality when judging their potency compared to other oils I've purchased.

Rating: I find Ylang Ylang extremely overpowering on its own (I am not a huge floral fan, BTW). But one day, I mixed up equal amounts of this Ylang Ylang #1 with NDA's Cajeput and I was in heaven!!!! Try it. The floral component was reduced enough for me. Also, the medicinal smell (camphor) of Cajeput was minimized. Fantastic!

Rating: Wow, I really enjoyed this scent... I have tried three different ylang ylangs from 3 different companies and so far this one is by far the best I have tried. (the other two were completes)
Rating: This is the worst Ylang Yalng essential oil that I used so far.
Very strong floral smell. It will give you a headache if you smell it directly from the bottle.
Don't use it for aromatherapy and massage purpose. It will give people headache. I tried it for my work and all of my coworkers complained about the scent. I am very skeptical about the review on the esssential oils here.
But oils are very good here!!!
New Directions Aromatics Response:
Jay, our Ylang Ylang is 100% natural and undiluted that is why you get a very strong scent. If you tried Ylang Ylang from other suppliers it may have been diluted and a lot weaker in smell. If you find ours too strong please dilute it in a carrier oil.
Rating: This is amazing. The poorman's jasmine is right here! You will not be dissapointed with this scent.

Rating: Next to Ylang Ylang Complete, this is my favorite Ylang Ylang as it is exquistely almost painfully exotic and strong floral scent will only require a small amount for a truly remarkable floral addition to any blend. A MUST HAVE for any aromatherapist. Use with caution as over-use can cause headaches! Wonderful quality.
