Aromatic Summary / Note / Strength of Aroma: The aroma is basically citrus, yet fruity and sweet with a warm spicy floral quality, and is reminiscent of Neroli, giving a middle note of medium strength.
Product Abstract: The Bergamot tree can grow up to four meters high, with star-shaped flowers, and smooth leaves, bearing citrus fruit resembling a cross between an orange and a grapefruit, but in a pear shape. The fruit ripens from green to yellow. The name Bergamot is derived from the city Bergamo in Lombardy where the oil was first sold.
Cautions: This essential oil may contain phototoxic properties and it is suggested to avoid exposure to the sun after application to the skin. Dilute well before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: This is a very versatile oil. The scent is pleasant and uplifting -- subtly sweet and mildly spicy -- but not especially strong. It's a little less than medium strength. However, it works wonders and is a must have because of how it transforms and deepens floral and herbal oils like Ylang Ylang or Basil. Excellent synergistic power though not a standout on its own.

Rating: Very new to essential oils and their uses but this one is quickly becoming one of our favourites. It mixes well with a number of other essentials but one of the best so far was with ylang ylang. Will be buying again.

Rating: As a carrier oil for lotions and creams, it works great. Stand alone it is a little bit light. Not carrying through in CP (I should have known). Still very pleasant and refreshing though.

Rating: I love the smell of this oil. It's refreshing and packs a citrus punch. If you are expecting a cup of earl grey tea though, this is not the oil for you. I found the natural blend resembles smells more like earl grey. This oil pairs wonderfully with grapefruit. Both oils are great but very different.

Rating: I really love the light, sweet, fruity scent of this oil. The after tones of a spicy wood just finishes it off beautifully. I have used it in a few blends, but it would be beautiful on it's own too. I will be adding it to my postpartum blend to help ward off depression. I hope it works as well as I read it does. Bergamott is a well known antidepressant that soothes the nerves and gives one a fresh outlook. Rating: From a perfumery perspective this scent is quite nice. Spicy and citrusy, it adds punch to most fragrances. This is not a sweet smell though, but it may be just what you need to liven up a fragrance.

Rating: my favourite essential oil of all time. i use it with grapefruit, neroli and texas cedarwood for day to day use to keep me smiling throughout my day, and in a spritzer with tea trea, lavender and texas cedarwood and water for acne. i haven't compared its aroma with the bergaptene free, but i usually use it on the insides of my wrists or misted under my clothes so i haven't experienced any problems with sunlight.
