Product Abstract: The Rosmarinus officinalis is an evergreen shrub with numerous branches, ash-colored bark, and thick, leathery dark-green leaves with white underneath. Rosemary’s tiny pale blue blossoms sprout in December and thrive through the spring, growing up to 2 meters in height. The name Rosmarinus officinalis translates to 'dew of the sea’ since the shrub naturally grows near the Mediterranean Sea. Rosemary has been a staple for thousands of years due to its medicinal, odorous, and cosmetic benefits. In spiritual and religious practices, Rosemary leaves were traditionally burned to purify the air. It was also used in Roman burial rites, and that practice continued well into the Middle Ages when it was customary to lay branches of rosemary on the coffin at funerals.

Today, the uses of Rosemary oil are equally as abundant. Boasting a fresh, woody, and evergreen aroma, Rosemary oil is a desired ingredient in aromatherapy, as well as in skin care and hair care formulations.

Cautions: This oil should not be used by those who are pregnant or under the care of a physician. Dilute well before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.

Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

I found that this EO oxidized quickly and develped a smell very similar to concentrated urea. I may have stored it in a fridge set too cold though.

This rosemary has a nice cooling effect and is more appealing than any of my local brands. It provides excellent liver support in aromatherapy treatment. I think it still needs to chemically settle into a mixture or it will have a scent resembling solvent, so I'm definitely curious about the French rosemary mensioned in a previous comment.

Rosemary is a favorite and this one is one of the best! Definitely a woodsy, green scent that lasts.

This rosemary is not my favourite. Granted, the batch of organic rosemary I got was from Tunisia, and not Morocco -- so this might be a bit different. For what it's worth, the batch I got had a strong woody smell and very little of the bracing, fresh green-camphorous scent that I look for in rosemary. I use it for housecleaning, but not for anything else. New Directions used to carry a French rosemary that was more expensive, but I loved it.

This one smells like walking in the mossy woods right after a light rainfall; not too musky, not too floral, just nice, balanced, and clean. I like that its neutral, so it would suit a scent for a male or female. I haven't tried it in any lotions or skin care yet (just my diffuser) but am very happy with this purchase.

I love rosemary! One of the Eo's I use almost everyday. A little suggestion - I think would be easier for most of us to see the chemotype of the EO beside title, especially where you have a few varieties of the same plant.
