Product Abstract: Balsam Fir Needles are about 3/4 to 1-1/4 inches long with two white stripes running down the underside of each needle. Also known as Blistering Pine, the oil is commonly used in air fresheners and household cleansers. Fir Balsam was used in the field during the American Civil War, and before the advent of chewing gum, the gum was sold as a breath-freshening confection.
Cautions: Dilute very well before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: I personally use it to make candles and room sprays with Lemon Oil. I was asked to give some to hunters I know. They blend it with Black Spruce EO and use it to hide their scent from Moose. They say it works great!

Rating: Transport yourself to the forrest with one wiff. This balsam fir smells exactly the way you want it to smell with no undertones of anything else. It's straight up fresh cut Christmas tree in a bottle.
Rating: I added this to candles in eco soy wax 230 and the WAX caught on fire for every candle tested. What is in this stuff, gasoline?! Smells nice, is basically of no use. I used around 1 oz oil per lb wax

Rating: It is very therapeutic, very fruity and green, very beautiful masculine essential oil. For sure, it will be a staple for me.

Rating: Beautiful fresh scent. Blended with tangerine and benzoin, it made a beautiful cold process soap. No issues with accelerating trace. Definitely a keeper!

Rating: A fresh woody scent that is softer than I expected, really a great smelling oil that I am adding to my pain salve; tried it in a pain oil for my knees and back (I have fibromyalgia and arthritis), and it really seems to help - more testing to be done. So far I like the way it blends cajeput, eucalyptus, and dark patchouli. I'm thinking it might blend nicely with something more heady like neroli or ylang ylang, but I haven't tried that yet.
We don't have balsam fir where I live in Saskatchewan, but this oil makes me wish we did. It makes me think of standing in the bush where it's nice and cool, out of the sun, with a hint of humidity to the air so everything smells really green and fresh, earthy. It's very relaxing, and I love it. Definitely will be buying a lot more of this one.

Rating: Denitiely loving this forest smell. It smells amazing if you are into outdoors.

Rating: This smells like olive oil mixed with a bit of paint thinner. It does have that piney scent to it, but it's definitely not my favourite pine scent. It smells warm and soothing, but it doesn't smell clean or crisp. I still prefer Pine Needle Siberian over this.

Rating: This is literally Christmas in a bottle!! It's perfect for room sprays.. especially for a 'Christmas in July" party. Your guests won't have a clue how you did it without actually having the tree :)

Rating: I am in love with this oil. It smells exactly like the Christmas trees I've always had, and like the forests of the Canadian Rockies. It's wonderful diffused with spruce and pine--smells just like the forest!

Rating: Great oil, I've received 15ml last week and I'm already halfway through, I want to use it in everything. It's the scent I have in mind when I think of fir. It's great for joint pain.

Rating: I'm a Forestry student at the Univerity of British Columbia and we study all sorts of trees....obviously, haha! Anyhoo, I got this Balsam Fir oil because I thought that this tree had such a wonderful and distinctive sent. This oil smells EXACTLY like the tree itself! There is no weird chemical smell or anything. This oil is so stunning! And super duper strong too. Holy smokes this oil is strong. Its a big bang for your buck! Which is good if you're a student!
P.S.
Also, I was watching Fraiser the other night and Fraiser recieved an invitation in the mail to an exclusive spa. Fraiser smelled the invitation and said "Ahhhh, the manly aroma of Balsam Fir...". Now I think of that everytime I smell it. Oh man, I love Fraiser....haha!

Rating: This oil is lovely, very high quality. I often prefer it to the strong, almost ammonia-like scent pine can have. It absolutely is reminiscent of a walk in the forest and I love it in all of my cold, cough and immune blends.

Rating: Incredible essential oil. I use it into my soaps with pine and black spruce. One must order at least a sample just to "see". The smell is really too wonderful.
Incroyable huile essentielle. Son odeur rappelle quand on se mettait le nez dans l'arbre de noël, dans notre enfance. Je l'utilise dans mes savons aux conifères. Il faut l'essayer : c'est une de mes préférées.

Rating: I adore fir balsam, and make two incenses with it. I find it a very grounding oil used therapeutically, and the thinner consistency than the resin is handy.

Rating: Another one of my favorite oils. Makes me think of a walk in the forest. Great in a difuser as natural air freshener and also in melt-and-pour or hot process soaps.
