FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Rooted in Tradition: Steam distilled from the roots of Vetiveria zizanoides in Madagascar, Vetiver Organic Essential Oil is QAI and USDA certified — sourced from plants grown using natural, organic farming methods.

A Balancing Base: With a strong, earthy aroma and smoky, woody undertones, Vetiver provides a grounding foundation that adds depth and structure to natural blends. It also acts as a fixative, slowing the evaporation of lighter top notes and helping scents linger. Its rich profile pairs well with citrus, floral, and spicy oils.

Fragrance of the Soil: Often called the Oil of Tranquility — or more poetically, the fragrance of the soil — Vetiver Organic Essential Oil carries a root-derived scent long used in calming rituals, from temple ceremonies to traditional aromatherapy. This oil is also known for its role in purification practices, lending grounding energy to blends crafted for calm, clarity, and intentional living.

Moisturizing and Conditioning: Vetiver helps hydrate dry skin, support elasticity, and soothe the scalp. Makers use it in creams, balms, aftershaves, and beard oils for its skin-conditioning benefits and warm, grounding aroma.

DESCRIPTION

Distilled from the roots of Vetiveria zizanoides, Vetiver Organic Essential Oil captures the earthy soul of the plant. Its name comes from a Tamil phrase meaning “hatcheted up,” a nod to the traditional method of harvesting.

Vetiver has long been used in perfumery, purification rituals, and aromatherapy. Its smoky-woody scent became a staple in men’s fragrances during the Middle Ages and remains a classic base note today. Makers value its grounding and fixative qualities, which help anchor scent blends and lend a calm, lingering presence to skin care, massage oils, and diffuser creations.

DIRECTIONS & SUGGESTED USAGE

  • Touch of Comfort: Blend Vetiver Organic Essential Oil at up to 1% into carrier oils for a soothing massage. Its earthy aroma helps create calming body oils perfect for winding down or post-workout relaxation.

  • Soothing Facial Mist: Dilute lightly in a hydrosol base or facial toner for a calming skin mist. Use sparingly due to its strong aroma and potency.

  • Stillness in the Air: Diffuse 3–5 drops of Vetiver Organic Essential Oil to center the mood with a smoky, grounding scent. Ideal for meditation, focused work, or evening rituals. Try blending with citrus or florals for balance.

  • Evening Ember Candles: Vetiver’s slow-fading, resinous aroma is a beautiful base for calming candles. Use Vetiver Organic Essential Oil at 3–6% in natural wax blends. Pairs well with warm spice, wood, or citrus notes in nighttime creations.

  • Beauty Balms: Vetiver EO is a thoughtful ingredient for skin care blends aimed at hydration and restoration. Add Vetiver Organic Essential Oil at 0.25–0.6% in balms, butters, or facial oils. Patch test before use.

  • Post-Shave Calm: Add Vetiver Organic Essential Oil at 0.5–1% in aftershave splashes or balms. Its skin-soothing nature and smoky, grounding scent offer a rich finish to shaving rituals.

  • Grounded Grooming: Use Vetiver Organic Essential Oil at 0.2–0.5% in beard oils, scalp treatments, or conditioning hair masks. Its earthy scent and moisturizing properties help calm dry skin, soften coarse hair, and promote a polished, well-groomed finish.

  • Signature Scent Foundation: Vetiver is a classic base note in natural perfumery. Its slow evaporation rate and rich aroma lend depth, structure, and longevity to colognes and custom scent blends. Use Vetiver Organic Essential Oil at 0.5–2% with complementary notes like citrus, spice, or floral.
