Standardization: 11.3% dry herb/L of oil (i.e., 113 g herb per 1000 ml of oil)
Common Uses: Also known as Mexican Arnica, the herb has been used medicinally on this continent for centuries. Because of the dearth of Arnica montana, a popular herb indigenous to Europe, it is currently used in Europe as a substitution when formulating topical skin-care products that provide an overall soothing experience.
Topically, Arnica Herbal Oil can be used in preparations for tinctures, creams, ointments, compresses and poultices.
Cautions: Arnica should only be applied to unbroken skin as it is known to promote blood circulation and may increase bleeding of wounds.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: WOW!!! I had heard of Arnica as a pain reliever years ago. It is now becoming so well known and mainstream that Rub A535 has come out with an Arnica based formulation. I did a lot of research to come up with a pain relief balm for my business...and Arnica was always at the top of the list. I made my balm yesterday and used it on my knee last night. I fell in April 2014 and have seriously damaged my knee and am still waiting for surgery. Since that time I have probably taken 400+ Tylenol 3's for pain which makes me worry about my poor liver :( I am delighted to say that my initial application met with GREAT results!!! In fact, my boyfriend, who is a skeptic when it comes to this "natural stuff" reluctantly tried it on his toe which has been giving him grief for years. This morning he asked sheepishly if he could take a small jar to work with him to apply during the day! It worked! Thanks NDA :)
Rating: This arnica oil has been a wonderful addition to my oils. I initially purchased it to add to an oil blend for arthritis but I have started using it direct from the bottle on any number of occasions and always with great results. It was especially effective when I used it when my Dalmatian accidentally pinched my finger nail with her canine teeth...(I was trying to remove a piece of plastic from her mouth)...the nail was so painful and although the skin was not broken you could see the bruising coming through almost immediately! Happily, I applied the arnica oil and miraculously I had no bruising. I have since used it on my husband's very sore shoulder with good results after two days. This will be a permanent item in my home and I have started adding it to several of my oil blends for aches and pains!

Rating: New Directions arnica oil surpassed all of my expectations. Many of my customers use it on a regular bases. This past winter I applied it to a very badly buised elbow, the result of a bad fall on ashpalt, the bruising was gone in 2 days. Many of my arthitic customers enjoy improved movement and comfort from using the arnica oil directly on the joint, the olive oil allows you to use a little bit with great results.
