Product Abstract: This chamomile grows extensively in central and eastern Europe, and is in the daisy family, growing to 30 cm high with lacey leaves and small white daisy-like flowers. The word 'chamomile' comes from the Greek word chamomaela or ground apple, referring to the fact that the plant grows low to the ground, and the fresh blooms have a pleasing apple-scent. In use for centuries, chamomile was a symbol of the omnipotence of the Egyptian god, Ra; to the Saxons it was one of nine sacred herbs; and in Europe during the Middle Ages it was used as a strewing herb.
Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals, and should be avoided by those allergic to ragweed; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping), be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: One of my go tos for many blends I diffuse. Use it for its immunity building and calming properties.

Rating: Very strong smell when you open it, so be prepared... but well worth it!!! It's better then any other brand I've tried and works great in my lotions and salves!!!
You only need a tiny bit of it, worth the money!

Rating: I don't get the apples and hay or grass or honey with this one.... It is very strong (more concentrated than other brands). I just personally really dislike the smell of Roman Chamomile. Sharp, pungent odor I don't even know what to compare to... But smells like other brand's RC so I guess it's just me! I just add 1-2 drops to my 10ml sleep blends and that's plenty.

Rating: Open all your windows and run the fans while you open this, it is STRONG. like eyes burning. 1 drop per oz. Strong. According to reviews they smell honey and fresh grass, I smell medical grade something. Pine sol maybe? Won't be buying it again, only because I was going off reviews of a pleasant smell.

Rating: The smell of this oil is amazing!! Its hard to describe but I'll try. It is sweet, like freshly mown grass combined with honey. It has been invaluable in treating teen acne.

Rating: This doesn't smell like chammomile tea to me, which is more what I was expecting (should have read the reviews more closely). However, it's a nice oil nonetheless, with a powerful floral/green/honey scent. Diluted it is great, but I find the pure overwhelming. My skin loves it though! Excited to order the german chammomile and smell the differences.

Rating: I think "apples and straw" is the perfect way to describe the scent of this chamomile. Mine isn't at all bluish in colour though, but the scent is very peaceful!

Rating: This is a more realistic aroma of chamomile than the Marocco version. It has got a nice uplifting smell that is fairly strong. I wish it worked better for acne though from what I heard. It's not useless but it's just not that great for it or there are better options.

Rating: This is a great multi-purpose oil, to date i've used it in all the bedroom humidifiers, cream for eczema, light lotion for a friend who suffers from migraines, and I'm currently working on a recipe to include it for a day face cream.
As far as the scent, it gives a sense of peace and calm is the best way I can describe the smell. :)
Love this product!!!

Rating: Just lovely. I had never taught of order chamomile EO because I don't like the smell of it in herbal tea, but this one is totally different. It smells like an early morning walk in the garden (sorry, this is what comes up to my mind when I smell it!) Apple smell is there, then some kind of straw, but in a nice warm fashion.
I tried it on my 2 year old night owl to no avail. Still glad I got it, I'll use it in my diffuser.

Rating: This is my favourite oil all. It is very calming after a day's work and I normally add it with Lavender but even with a 1:5 ratio (more Lavender), the Chamomile scent still prevails. I like the fact that it is strong.

Rating: The smell is as strong as suggested and a little to get used to, but with the healing effects it has it is well worth having it around. A little goes a long way.

Rating: I've never liked Chamomile tea. I think it is the smell that I am not a fan of....the straw smell just seems to get stuck in my nose. However, everyone else seems to like it. It really does smell like straw and apples. To each is own. But the quality is there and I am sure the smell is right on for this one. For that, I give it 4 stars.

Rating: This is a very nice specimen, especially at the low price it is been currently offered. The aroma is right; it is well rounded and balanced. I usually dislike the smell from the bottle because it often smells chemical too my nose and hence I prefer it diluted, but this specimen is pleasant and relaxing right from the bottle. This product has the raw, earthy aroma that the essential oils should always possess. It has the characteristic apple-like smell but it is just reminiscent of apple. We know all the uses of roman chamomile, it overlaps the properties of German chamomile and lavender and can be used for young children skin problems and equally for baby's skin problem safely. If your children have trouble getting asleep, a gentle massage in the head will certainly help. The same applies for grownups.
Rating: I will never be without this oil again! I have Fibromyalgia and stress and pretty much anything else you can imagine makes my muscles seize up, causing debilitating pain. I use Roman Chamomile daily in lotions and it lowers my stress and relaxes my muscles, thereby relieving and preventing all kinds of pain. On top of all that, it smells just like the chamomile that grew in my yard when I was little - like a beautiful summer's day in BC!
Also, a little goes a long way, so in the end it's economical as well.

Rating: Although, I am not personally fond of the smell of Chamomile Roman I can not deny it's wonderful healing properties in skin creams, it's effectiveness in p.m.s and menopausal creams, and it's extreme relaxing abilities. A very important oil with many uses.

Rating: My favorite essential oil by far. I absolutely love this scent. I find it very warm, comforting and soothing. Added to sweet marjarom and lavender, it is a wonderful sleeping "potion" for the whole family.

Rating: This is just like magic in a bottle. Exellent quality and service as always!
Rating: This smells superb! I will definitly be blending this with lavender and using it in a line of baby products I am working on! For chamomile- this is a great price!
By:Stephanie, Cochrane, Alberta Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 09-Apr-2007
Rating: Roman Chamomile on its own smells sweet, complex, and quite strawlike. There's an element in it that hits the back of my nasal cavity like no other essential oil. This might be nice in a bath bomb, or soap. I can't see it being used in a natural perfume oil, although it is recorded as being commonly used in perfumery, and is in fact contained in at least by chanel.

Rating: I was a little surprised at first by the intensity of the scent out of the bottle, but one drop each of Roman Chamomile and Lavender pop. in my 10 month old's bath before bed, and she's calm and happy and sleeps beautifully.

Rating: One of the safest essential oils besides lavender and tea tree. Has the most innocent, sweet and lovely scent always reminds me of childhood. Can be used for infants and children in calming blends and healing blends as well. This Roman is one of the best I've used! Very high frequency.
