Product Abstract: Also called Tibetan Cedarwood, the Himalayan Cedar is a tall, evergreen tree that grows up to 50 meters or more in height. It grows extensively on the slopes of the Himalayas in northern India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Aromatic cedar chests have always been used to store woolen articles.
Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in metal containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life.

Rating: I've yet to try a Cedar that I don't like, and this one is the same. I personally find Himalayan Cedar has more similarities to Atlas than the others, with some unique characteristics. This one to me has a fresher note while Virginian/Texas Cedars are more mellow versions of Cedar. Can't wait to experiment with it more!

Rating: This last bottle was quite a darker orange- brown colour than other bottles I’ve received from ND. It smells the same and works well when blended. Colour seems to vary from lot to lot. But if you’re making soaps that need to be white in colour just be prepared to use a whitener. Otherwise it will tint your soaps a nice cream colour.
Rating: That was much stronger than expected, but very interesting.

Rating: It's amazing how different the cedar oils are. This one was nothing like I expected - sort of a heavy, artificial, soapy aroma. It is much nicer when diluted and blended, but not much of a woodsy scent.

Rating: I saw some reviews say it smells sweet and that was the reason I bought it. It's not really sweet and I can't bear the smell. It honestly reminds me of mothball. I bought a bottle of 100ml and I am not sure how I can use it.
Rating: Not the typical cedar smell that I expected. Smells very sweet and doesn't have the smokey wood scent. This one isn't for me however the oil itself smelled of high quality. For a more classic cedar smell, the Virginian and Texas from NDA is the way to go.

Rating: Just got this in the mail today, freakin awesome!!!! I just love the smell. This will be staple for me going forward. Smells awesome on it's own, can't wait to combine it with other essential oils...
Rating: I usually buy the Virginian Cedarwood but thought I'd try something different. Went with this one, the Himalayan because the price was so good. I'm very disappointed. It smells just sweet, I don't smell any woodsy undertones at all (from the bottle that is, haven't yet tried it in CP soap yet. If I change my mind after using it I will re-post here). I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Virginian Cedarwood and will definitely be sticking with that one from now on. If you like a sweet cedarwood I can see you liking the Himalayan but if you want a woodsy, smoky, manly scent definitely buy the Virginian instead.
Rating: Amazing smell! Woody deep, sweet and kind of mysterious. Stays very well in blends. Would love to give 10 star!

Rating: Sweet smelling cedar, even more so than the Atlas Cedar Organic. I love both.
By:Stephanie, Lethbridge, Alberta Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 25-Sep-2015
Rating: Smells delightful, woody and sweet in the bottle and for skin applications. The sweetest of the cedarwoods. Adds a nice base note when diffused along with florals or citrus.

Rating: I wish that this oil wasn't as sweet smelling as it is. However, works great for a woodsy scent. Doesn't add as much "smoke" as I would like, but isn't that much of an issue.

Rating: Woody, earthy smell. Used it in beard oil, it's a very masculine scent. A little goes a long way. Great price also.

Rating: My favourite of all the varieties of Cedarwood EO...
And it blends well with other "woodsy" scents for men's soaps... because sometimes it's hard to appeal to the guys. But The Cedarwood - always a staple for men soaps.

Rating: This was my first time with the Himalayan, and I like it! It's sweet and herbaceous, with the woody notes being lower or coming after. Soaps well in CP, and blends nicely with citrus, patchouli and other woods.

Rating: I wasn't sure how I would like this not having bought cedarwood before, but it's become my new favourite oil. Soft, woody, calming, almost hypnotic.
I made a salve for eczema with this, lavender, tea tree, frankincense and helichrysum, and it smells so good it's like perfume. It even covered the smell of the neem oil. I've used this oil in my diffuser, in the bath - I really can't get enough of it. It mixed beautifully with rosalina in last night's bath. The only thing I regret is that I didn't buy more of it.
By:Virginia, Borden, Saskatchewan Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 26-Jan-2014
Rating: It does have a very strong aroma and a bit of an off note but I let it sit out for almost a year and it mellowed out and became quiet exotic. It's very astringent by itself so I need to mix it out.
By:Rava, Toronto, Ontario Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 29-Apr-2011
Rating: I love all the cedarwoods I've tried over the years, so it was time for this one. Unfortunately for me, 500 ml of this has a hint of "cat wet" as they politely say around here. I'll try combining it with other EO's and see if it blends well and contributes it's positive properties: green, woodsy, resin.

Rating: I was surprised to detect an element of sweetness to this cedarwood EO. It is more complex than just your standard cedar scent. LOVE it. It is great blended with other EOs. It blends well with Patchouli, Rosemary, Clary Sage and Spearmint. It completes a scent in my opinion.
By:Susan, Whitby, Ontario Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 17-Feb-2010
Rating: This scent is great, especially for men who dislike anything floral or fruity. It has a fresh, clean scent that is not overpowering. I use it in an herbal salve to ease muscular aches, with just a touch of lavender EO. I will be trying it in a bath bomb next with peppermint infused oil and in a shaving soap for my husband with green tea.

Rating: Can't get enough of this oil!!! love it in my men's aftershave, and is lovely when added to the diffuser with other tree scents ,Eucalyptus & lemon in cold season. Love the hint of smokiness that it adds to my blends.

Rating: a beautiful cedar oil. the scent is fresh, green, marvelously uplifting. i make sachets with this cedar, french lavender and peppermint to keep away moths -- knock on wood, they seem to be finally gone! (i also put a few drops of this blend in the rinse water of all my laundry).

Rating: Spicy and fresh. I liked this oil. It is a nice unisex scent. I wouldn't call it stellar but I think the description 'nice' fits. Worth the price.

Rating: I was curious about how this type of cedarwood essential oil would smell, l have loved it since the moment I took my first sniff. It is definitely different than the cedarwood I usually get but still a very pleasant scent. I will enjoy playing with it and seeing what new scents I can come up with this one!

Rating: A wonderful EO! I add this with Wild Black Spruce and a smidgen of Fir OEs in my diffusor. I feel like I am tucked away in a cabin up high in the mountains - I become totally distressed!!

Rating: A very sweet, surprisingly inexpensive oil that brightens up many blends similar to how citrus does. I use it as an equivalent to franincense in mediative blends.

Rating: mmm, this Cedarwood seems to be more mild, soft and woody than the rest, very nice. Probably better vesion for the sedative properties of Cedarwood.

Rating: This is my favourite EO...I find it warm, soothing and intoxicating. Beautiful as a single note and a favourite ingredient in a blend of Himalayan Cedarwood, Basil and Lemon. I have tested it in soy candles, and have found the scent holds but is rather subtle.
Rating: Rich, heady EO which blends with Neroli to lift mood.
By:Sharon, Yarker, Ontario Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 07-Sep-2007
Rating: Because there are so many cedarwoods I wanted to try them all. This one isn't like the Atlas or Virginian cedarwood. I don't find it very 'woody'. I would describe the smell of this cedarwood as astringent and greenish. I like it in a blend I made with myrrh, frankincense and bergamot.
By:Sandi, Vancouver, British Columbia Top ReviewerDate: Loyal Customer Since: 09-Nov-2005
Rating: This essential oil is very precious in my soapmaking. It is a rich woody and balsamic smelling essential oil. I mix it with other balsamic essential oils. Its smell brings a feeling of well being and calm.
