Roots

A plant’s roots are typically invisible, as they are usually underground plant parts that grow downward into the soil in order to firmly affix the plant and to support its structure. Similarly, essential oils extracted from plants are known to have grounding and supportive properties for the human mind and body. Essential oils from roots are generally extracted using steam distillation and, when added to an essential oil blend, root-based oils add balance. The different types of roots grow differently; some taper at the top and bottom, some grow in open air, some are thick and spreading, and some are conical in shape.
