This constituent is used in fragrances for its pleasant scent and is found in the oils of plants such as Angelica and Eucalyptus. β-phellandrene, in particular, has a pleasant odor that gives some plants a distinctive scent, which has been described as peppery, minty, and/or slightly citrusy.
