Polawax is a preparation of higher fatty alcohols that produce thick emulsions without the addition of stiffening waxes. Recommended usage level is 2% - 10%.
Trade Name: PolawaxTM NF
PolawaxTM NF consists of four ingredients. These are Cetearyl Alcohol, PEG-150 Stearate, Polysorbate 60, and Steareth-20. It mirrors the properties of Cetyl Alcohol while promoting the thickening features of Stearyl Alcohol.
Appearance: Creamy white solid beads with little to no odor.
Uses: Polawax is an effective emulsifier suited for the preparation of cosmetic oil / water emulsions. It can also be used to increase the thickness of formulations, eliminating the need for use of additional ingredients. It works well as a sole emulsifier, thickener and stabilizer in an emulsion. Examples include creams, lotions, body butters, conditioners, face cleansers and baby products.
Directions for Use: Approximately 25% of the total oil phase (please run test batches when formulating).
Compatibility: Polawax is compatible with anionic, cationic and non-ionic systems. The emulsions show excellent stability in both acid and base media. Emulsions are stable with a pH as low as 3 or as high as 13. It does not deteriorate on heating, experiencing only a slight alteration in color at temperatures up to 150-152°C for two hours.

Rating: Created a styling cream for Afro-textured hair, which turned out super moisturizing and nourishing. I will definitely buy it again. Thanks NDA for bringing this ingredient because it's expensive to purchase it from the US!

Rating: This wax is the ORIGINAL polawax, no substitute. It creates beautiful creams with lovely glossy texture and able to hold whatever you throw at it, electrolytes, proteins, eo, heavy oil phase, etc. I have never experienced any separation with this wax. nor have I ever noticed any rancidity of my products after testing some for over a year. Overall, this is the best of the best in terms of emulsifiers and at a very fair price as well. Excellent purchase, easy beginner use, just wonderful.

Rating: Polawax creates practically foolproof emulsions. I generally use it at 7%, with a total 25% oils/75% waters. It is worth noting that lotions made with Polawax take a few days to thicken into a proper lotion consistency, and are very much like milk before then. Don't worry, it will thicken, but don't make this lotion the day you plan on selling it.

Rating: Polawax won't let you down! Along with a little stearic acid for thickness, that is all you need to make beautiful emulsions. I use nothing else.

Rating: When I only started with my creams and lotions the textures have been unstable and often split on water and oil.
Not with polawax - it is ideal for newbies and continues working great with more experience.
The only issue that it can be a bit 'heavy' for face. I try not to exceed 2-3%, adding xantan and guar as additional emulsifier.
For body it is perfect alone as well as with bees' wax for colder seasons.

Rating: Polawax is easier to use and a better emulsifier than beeswax. I initially used beeswax for my first batch of body lotion and it took a long time for the oil/water mixture to emulsify and even after about 7-8 minutes of blending it was only 80% emulsified. Also, the body lotion had a greasy feel. After switching to Polawax, my recipe emulsified within 15 seconds and there was no greasy feel to the lotion! Great stuff, great price!

Rating: All I have to say is thank goodness for this product, it holds all the ingredients together in my cleanser nicely without any separation!

Rating: It's great to have this detergent (SLS, SLES) and toxin-free emulsifying wax. The only one I use for all creams and lotions. Needs 1/4 more than lanette wax, however.

Rating: Fantastic product! I love the way my lotions turn out when I use this.
Rating: This is the ONLY emulsifier you will ever need! It works beautifully in my lotions and creams. It makes the art of lotion and cream making so much easier. Please don't ever stop carrying it.

Rating: I really like polawax, it makes a great emulsion, however, I find at 5% with 5% stearic, I sometimes get some separation with my water, but blend in a few pinches of guar gum and problem fixed.

Rating: Everybody should try it, it's the best emulsifier. Polawax is easy to use and create the perfect emulsion: Stable and smooth, with only a small amount. Also, New Directions have the lowest price that I have seen!
