Standardization: 10:1 Extract
Apricot Seed Liquid Extract – Standardized is a liquid blend of Apricot Seed Extract and Propanediol produced through a unique manufacturing technology.
Apricot seeds contain a high concentration of fatty acids, minerals, and vitamins and are considered to have emollient properties that can improve skin hydration. Apricot Seed Liquid Extract is also a rich source of Vitamin C and A, known to help remove buildup from the surface of the skin and to keep it well-hydrated. Apricot Seed Liquid Extract is an excellent addition to skin care formulations for exfoliating, cleansing, and moisturizing the skin.
With a plant-based origin, Propanediol is a biodegradable and petrochemical-free solvent that is NPA approved, making it an excellent corn sugar-derived alternative to petroleum-based Glycols for hair and skin care formulations. It offers benefits and functionalities that include improved emollience, enhanced viscosity, non-irritating properties, exceptional sensory characteristics, clarity, and anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, among many more.
The characteristic color of this botanical extract imbues natural and organic cosmetic formulations with its innate hue. This means that the product colors that were formerly possible to obtain only through the use of artificial and often objectionable constituents can now be achieved through plant-based ingredients that impart not only their beneficial, skin health-enhancing properties but also their individual natural colors. It is strongly recommended that small batch trials be conducted to determine the dosage required to achieve the desired shade imbued by the extract.
The original color of Apricot Seed Liquid Extract – Standardized is pale yellow to amber; however, there is a possibility of this color changing, depending on the formulation to which it is added.
Recommended Usage Level: 1-3% in skincare products.
Storage: Stable when stored in a cool, dry place.
Solubility: This liquid extract is soluble in water, water-in-oil emulsion, surfactant, and alcohol.

Liquid Extracts FAQ
Apricot Seed Liquid Extract FAQs
How is Apricot Seed Liquid Extract different than Apricot Kernel Carrier Oil?
Apricot Kernel Carrier Oil is cold pressed from the kernels of the Prunus Armeniaca fruit. It is a viscous oil that is pale yellow to golden yellow in color. Apricot Kernel Oil is known to resemble the sebum naturally found in human skin, making it rich in cleansing, conditioning, and moisturizing properties. Apricot Kernel Oil can be used alone or as part of a personal care formulation in place of a carrier oil.
Apricot Seed Liquid Extract is a thinner, less viscous fluid that is extracted from the seeds of the Apricot fruit using Propanediol, a clear, organic solvent derived from corn. Also rich in emollient properties, Apricot Seed Extract delivers vitamins and minerals that cleans and exfoliate the skin. As a liquid extract, it is recommended to use in place of powdered extracts for a convenient and effective way to enhance formulations.
