Description: Vanilla is a perennial herbaceous climbing vine that can grow up to 25 meters (82 feet) high and that is native to Central America and Mexico. In cultivation the deep trumpet-shaped flowers of the vanilla must be hand-pollinated; while in Mexico the native humming bird do the work. The green capsules or fruit are picked, cured, and the immature vanilla pod or bean is fermented and dried to turn it into a fragrant brown vanilla bean. Our variety is a ten-fold bourbon; this refers to the concentration of the Oleoresin.

Color: Dark brown mobile liquid.

Common Uses: Vanilla oleoresin is considered a premiere sensual aphrodisiac and one of the most popular flavors/aromas. It is comforting and relaxing and is also an ingredient in Oriental type perfumes.

Blends well with: Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lemon, Mandarin, Orange, Sandalwood, and Vetiver.

Aromatic Scent: Vanilla is one of the most well known scents. The oil has a rich, sweet, vanilla odor.

History: After civil wars and reduced availability, the price of vanilla essential oil has risen to the point of most absolutes. Nonetheless, the true oil is recognized as being well worth the price.

Cautions: No known toxicity. Avoid high concentration in pregnancy. This product contains vanillin that will change the color in soaps and body care products. Not suitable for candle use. Vanilla 10 Fold is soluble in ethanol only. It is immiscible in water and oil. Avoid very high concentrations in skin care. It is recommended that this oil be stored in dark amber, blue or green glass bottles since it has been found to dissolve aluminum bottles.

Usage Directions: Since this essential oil has a thick consistency, We would recommend placing the bottle in a very hot water bath, changing the water frequently and once it is back to the liquid state be sure to shake before use.

This EO smells incredible--just like true vanilla extract, not the fake vanilla-inspired fragrance and flavour oils. Keep in mind, though, that it's water soluble, not oil soluble, as per the MSDS. Good for lotions and soaps, but it's a pity I won't be able to use it in balms and body butters.

Very versatile. I'm not a huge vanilla fan, but I know some of my customers are. This lasts well in HP soap & lip balms. I usually mix with other oils with excellent results.

A nice warm vanilla scent. It smelled great in a cream, unfortunately it gives a brown tint to it. I'd like to try it in a soap since it has a nice strong scent.

It took me some time to figure out how to use this product. It is deceptively strong in scent. At first I thought I needed a lot of it in my soaps for it to make an impact, but I've since learned that I need much less than I thought. The scent of Vanilla is popular with my customers, though not so much with myself. For value and quality, this is a great product.

Beautiful vanilla scent. When I smelled it straight out of the bottle it seemed very "smoky", with a tinge of alcohol, but those notes disappeared after a few minutes, leaving a pure vanilla scent.

This smells wonderful, it has the true vanilla scent I am looking for. It does not appear to be oil soluable, which disappoints me (would not incorporate into the oils of my lip balm batch), however, I look forward to using it in my water based creams and soap making.

WOW! The strongest smelling EO in my entire order! I wonder what Vanilla 20 Fold would smell like? This is the truest scent of Vanilla I have ever come across - it is not over sickly sweet and also carries a depth that I can't quite put my finger on... but it is absolutely lovely! Since you will not need too much of this EO to scent your products with, which makes the price even more of a bargain!

This is a beautiful product! Smells rich and luxurious. I like to blend it with lavender or patchouli but if I'm feeling particularly romantic I'll make a small batch of CP with just this EO. I highly recommend it!
