Stephenson Shea Soap Base is free of all surfactants and propylene glycol. It contains 5% Shea Butter, and is smooth, creamy, and rich with natural emollient properties.
Our Melt & Pour Glycerin Soap base is ALL VEGETABLE OIL and contains no alcohol or harmful products to dry your skin! Glycerin, a natural emollient, draws moisture out of the air to benefit skin health. It cleanses without stripping or upsetting the delicate natural pH balance necessary for soft, healthy skin. And, since we don't use animal oils, our soap rinses clean and leaves no soapy film behind. All our soap bases are produced from the highest quality double distilled and deodorized clear coconut oil, forming luxurious lather and sparkling clarity.
Please note that the Shea Butter Soap may not lather as well as other soap bases. This is due to a natural chemical process and it does not undermine the effectiveness of the product.
Usage: A two pound brick can make between 10 - 20 soaps, depending on the size of the soap you’re trying to make.

Caution: When making soaps it is good to remember that the Melt & Pour Bases contain water as part of the formula. So if they are left exposed to the atmosphere, the water will evaporate and the bar of soap will shrink. We would recommend fully wrapping the ENTIRE soap bar as soon as it is poured and cooled--this should minimize/eliminate any shrinkage.

This base as a beautiful richness to it, but doesn't seem to lather. It solidify extremely rapidly, making it a almost impossible to make soaps using molds that needs perfectly clean/straight limits to join to part perfectly after. It is easy to use in normal shaped molds.

Although I like the softness of this soap, I find the fact that there is no lather to be a definite disadvantage. If you don't mind not having lather, then by all means, go ahead and buy it - you won't be disappointed - but if it's lather you're looking for, the Goat's Milk is a better option, in my opinion.

This absolutely surprised me. I have not been a big fan of Melt and Pour Soap up until NOW that is. I got a really decent lather, and my dry skin felt soft and wonderful. My next purchase will be a case!!!! you can't beat that price. AWSOME.

The shea butter base moisturizes quite well when using to wash your hands. The soap is fragile, because if it is heated in a double boiler more than once it hardens up and is not open to melting again. Amazing foaming content with Shea and my friends and I really like the fact that it comes nothing short of perfect Shea!! - BUY IT

This base is a good quality one. On another hand, it is opaque, and clear. Unless I made a mistake. There is a big advantage of containing 5% shea butter.
