Coffee Essential Oil

Average Product Rating: 4.5 / 5 (Based on 12 Customer Reviews)
Main Constituents:
Oleic acid: 79.2%
Botanical Name: Coffea arabica L
Plant Part: Seeds
Extraction Method: Cold Pressed
Origin: Brazil
Description: Coffea Arabica is the earliest cultivated species of the coffee tree and still the most widely grown. The trees produce approximately 70% of the world's coffee, and are dramatically superior in cup quality to the other principal commercial coffee species, Coffea canephora or Robusta. All fine, specialty, and fancy coffees come from Coffea arabica trees.
Color: Dark brown viscous liquid.
Common Uses: Coffee Essential Oil has a multitude of possible uses. It can be burned as a room deodorizer and is considered to be an excellent anti-oxidant. It has also been used to combat depression, respiratory issues, stings, fevers, and general nausea.
Consistency: Medium
Note: Medium
Strength of Aroma: Medium
Blends well with: Coffee Essential Oil is best appreciated when used independently.
Aromatic Scent: Coffee Essential Oil smells just like a fresh brewed pot of coffee. It is both warming and invigorating.
History: The history surrounding coffee is vast. An Islamic monk was vexed by his inability to stay awake during his prayers. One day he saw a goat shepherd dancing with his goats and was told a specific bean caused the happiness. Convinced that Mohammed had sent him this herb as a gift to keep him awake, the monastery was thereafter called the home of the Wakeful Monks, as they would drink coffee as they prayed. (A similar legend exists in China regarding tea.) African warriors would mix mashed coffee berries with animal fat, roll them into balls, and eat them before battle. All of Latin America's coffee industry emerged from one tree in a Dutch botanical garden. The name Coffee comes from Caffa, an Abyssinian province.
Cautions: Coffee Essential Oil should be avoided during pregnancy. It may also cause heart palpitations in some individuals.
Usage Directions: Since this essential oil has a slightly thick consistency, We would recommend placing the bottle in a very hot water bath, changing the water frequently and once it is back to the liquid state be sure to shake before use.

Not sure you could find a scent more true to coffee than this! I'm excited to try this with vanilla in a milk based soap. Instead of a Tim's Double Double it'll be an Amy's Double Double.

I like the smell of this one out of the bottle, but haven't found a product I like it in yet. I also use it to "cleanse my palette" while working with other scents instead of pulling out the coffee beans.

Really like this. Doesn't have the sweet coffee smell of a FO, but a more "real" black coffee. Used 7% in my soap (crock method) & it smells good, but think I may move it up to 9% to get more up front scent. May try it later as a lip balm at maybe 1% mixed with another foodie eo.

Nice stuff! Does smell just like coffee. I had to remove the dropper cap to get it out of the bottle, though. A little thick. I like blending it with the NDA cocoa absolute, or vanilla 10 fold, or sweet orange, or cinnamon, or anything else "foody."

A dreamy scent ! If one does not know what to do with it, just smell it and try not becoming addicted. I think of making a soap that Seven Cup would envy me. Many ideas of how to use it. And here again... the price is affordable.

Mmmmmm, smells just like morning! Ever seen the avertisement "The best part of waking up, is Folgers in your cup!"? Well, this is it! A great scent!

This coffee scent is very nice. It is strong and true and you only need a little bit to get a lot of scent. The only downside is that it is a PASTE not a liquid, so it is difficult to get out and some gets wasted in the process. It needs a different container, but other than that, highly recommended.

Works great in a lip balm with chocolate, vanilla, and a tiny hint of cinnamon. Starbucks, eat your heart out.

This is an amazing oil! My mind is full of ideas. I can't wait to mix it with my cocoa butter products to make a delicious mocha aroma. For now it is sitting on my desk where I can smell it all day long - yummm.

I'm not crazy about this oil. The smell is rather bitter, and it is VERY thick -mine is actually a paste and does not drip from the bottle.

Coffee essential oil doesn't get more true than this. If you like coffee, this is for you. In fact, just smelling makes me want some coffee. In the polo black fragrance (ralph lauren) coffee is mixed with mango. You don't have to smell it to know it's delightful. Note: mango is a synthetic scent. You get what you pay for with this one.

Wonderful oil, I use this to "clear the palatte" so to speak when dealing with many different essential oils. You can also use fresh ground beans for the same effect, but COFFEE ABSOLUTE or Coffea arabica is FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY. It's great to use with Balms, Candles, Ointments, Lip Balms, Skin Cream, and Soaps. Good quality.
