An Ester of Benzyl alcohol and Benzoic acid, this constituent is used as a preservative, a fragrance ingredient, and a solvent that allows other ingredients to dissolve in a solution. It is naturally occurring in Cinnamon Essential Oil and is also found in Ylang-Ylang, Rosewood, and Benzoin.
