FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Rich in Nutrients and Antioxidants: Naturally high in essential fatty acids, carotenoids, and Vitamin E, Batana Oil’s nutrient-density is known to support healthy-looking hair and skin.

Hair Conditioning & Shine: A buzzy hair care ingredient, Batana Carrier Oil enhances the softness, sheen, and manageability of the hair without leaving a greasy residue. Its lightweight, “wet” texture tames frizz and is especially suitable for curly, coily, and extra dry hair types.

Moisture-Locking Emollient: This oil’s Oleic and Linoleic Acid content supports moisture retention in both skin and hair while improving hydration and overall texture.

Historical Significance: Batana Carrier Oil has been valued by the Miskito people of Honduras for centuries due to its nutrient profile and its skin and hair beautifying properties.  The traditional methods of extracting Batana Oil are still practiced today to honour its legacy.

DESCRIPTION

Batana Carrier Oil is a rare, nutrient-dense oil that is cold-pressed from the kernels of the American palm tree (Elaeis oleifera). Commonly found in Honduras and throughout Central and South America, this precious, unrefined oil is known for its dark brown hue and strong, earthy, and nutty aroma reminiscent of roasted coffee and burnt sugar.

Rich in essential fatty acids, including Oleic, Linoleic, Palmitic, and Stearic Acids, Batana Oil has been a staple ingredient to the Miskito people for generations due to its hair conditioning and protective properties. Batana Oil also possesses a unique blend of antioxidants such as beta-carotene and alpha tocopherol that shield the hair and skin from harsh environmental elements.

Batana Oil is a highly desirable ingredient, especially in holistic hair care, since it replenishes lost moisture, seals in softness, and promotes healthy-looking hair naturally. Its lightweight, “wet” consistency also enhances the sensory appeal of a wide range of formulas, including scalp treatments, hair masks, and styling products, as well as deeply nourishing skin creams and body balms.

DIRECTIONS AND SUGGESTED USAGE

Conditioners and Hair Masks: Add 5–20% Batana Carrier Oil to conditioners, hair masks, and intensive treatments and adjust based on the viscosity of the formulation.

Face and Body Care: For creams, lotions, and butters, 5-20% Batana Oil is recommended. For rinse-off products such as bar soaps and body wash, add 2-10% of this carrier oil.

Oil Blends & Solid Balms: Use up to 5% in lip care products, multi-purpose balms, and other solid products for a smooth texture and a naturally conditioning effect. For beard oils and other oil blends, use up to 50% Batana Oil.
