Ocimene

This constituent is believed to act as a plant’s defense system. It is often used as a base material in the production of several aromatic chemicals. Ocimenes are known to have a pleasant aroma that has been described as warm, tropical, herbaceous, citrusy, and woody but they are unstable in air.
