Ricebran Butter is a soothing blend of rich, silky Ricebran Oil and hydrogenated vegetable oils to create a soothing butter with a solid texture, perfect for a deeply moisturizing addition to skin-care products. Rice Oil is extracted from the bran or outer coat of the brown rice grain removed during the milling process. It is rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins and essential oils. It finds its use in the cosmetics industry due to the presence of various unsaponifiables and tocotrienols, which act as strong antioxidants that may be more powerful and effective than other forms of vitamin E, such as tocopherols.
Common Uses: Solid butter, excellent for making rich lip balms as well as, skin, nail and hair-care products.
• Lotions & Creams: 2 - 20 %
• Balms: 5 – 100 %
• Bar Soaps: 5 - 20 %
• Hair Conditioners/ Pomades: 1 – 10 %
When adding butters to creams and lotions, it might be necessary to gently warm the butter before incorporating it into the final product. Using a hand blender, you can create a vortex with your cream or lotion and then drizzle your melted butter in, to fully incorporate it. For addition to soaps, the general rule of thumb is 1 tablespoon per pound (15 g / 500 g). As with most raw materials, results may vary, so we strongly recommend small, lab-scale batches prior to any commercial manufacturing.
Shelf Life: Store in cool temperatures (below 25 °C) away from light and moisture in an air-tight container. The product will become liquid above ambient temperatures (e.g., 36 °C), but will re-solidify upon cooling without affecting functionality. This butter has a shelf-life of 18 months when stored properly.
