MARKET REPORT SEPTEMBER 2019

The following report contains updates on the current trends in production and availability of the most in-demand Essential Oils, Carrier Oils, and Raw Materials sourced from around the globe.

Eucalyptus Oil (Radiata)

Eucalyptus Radiata does not have a distinct harvest season, as the various production regions' harvest seasons differ significantly; thus, individual producers commonly harvest for only approximately half the year, after which time the other producers begin their harvest. The current growing conditions are favorable, and there are no expected issues with production at this time. This year's crop is expected to be slightly higher than that of last year. Although the demand for Eucalyptus Oil is now at a slightly lower rate than the demand experienced over the last 5 years, it remains strong and continues to increase. The demand and supply are balanced, and the pricing remains stable. In contrast to much of the past 5-6 years, Eucalyptus Oil is now largely available ex stock for prompt distribution.

Lime Organic Oil

In Sri Lanka, Limes can be harvested every 4-6 months. Generally, 12500-13000 kgs of the conventional variety can be harvested per hectare, whereas the organic variety yields 9000-9500 kgs per hectare. In organic farming, farmer groups cultivate the fruits, and most of the farmer groups supply 90% of their crops to value-added processors, while 10% is released to local supermarkets. The current crop yield is the same as that of last year. There is a global increase in the demand for organic-grade Lime Oil, and with demand and supply playing major roles in deciding prices, the Lime Oil prices are forecasted to remain the same for the next two months; however, natural disasters lead to increased prices in the global market place.

Black Cumin Seed Oil – Virgin and Organic

In Israel, new Cumin crops are planted in December and harvested in June, and the new crop becomes available in July. Both virgin and organic varieties of Black Cumin Seed Carrier Oil are currently in great demand, and while this oil has been eminent in the Middle East and Far East for generations, it has become a best-selling oil in the US in the past year. The market is tight, especially for the organic variety, and cheaply-priced offers should be handled prudently in case of potentially adulterated product.

Cedarwood Oil

Cedarwood Oil (Atlas)
In Morocco, Cedarwood undergoes wild harvest collection from March to November. This year's projected harvest yield, demand, and market conditions are all stable.

Cedarwood Oil (Chinese)
In China, Cedarwood is harvested in all four seasons. This year's crop yield is projected to be almost the same as that of last year. With the demand remaining high for Chinese Cedarwood, production is working intensively to keep pace. Prices remain firm and stable.

Cedarwood Oil (Himalayan)
In India, Cedarwood is harvested throughout the year. The harvest yield is constant, as it is a controlled product, and the oil distillation yield is approximately 4-5%. Reputed to function effectively as an ideal pest repellent and as a fixative ingredient in perfumery, Cedarwood is increasing in demand. This year's prices are increasing relative to the previous year.

Camellia Seed Oil

In China, Camellia flowers grow on the mountains, where the climate is mild, there is an equal abundance of sunlight and rain, and the land is fertile, an exceptional environment in which the air, soil, and water are free from contamination. Camellia seeds are harvested from early November to the end of December. Compared to last year, this year's harvest yield is higher. As per the typical growth pattern, this year's harvest indicates that next year's will be comparatively lesser. With usage of Camellia Oil growing extensively, there has been an increasing demand for this product.
