Stephenson's Melt and Pour SLS Free Soap Base is free from foam boosters such as SLS and SLES, and although this base is slightly cloudier than the standard base, it is still odor-free and won't turn yellow during processing.
Our Melt & Pour Glycerin Soap base is ALL VEGETABLE OIL and contains no alcohol or harmful products to dry your skin! Glycerin, a natural emollient, draws moisture out of the air to benefit skin health. It cleanses without stripping or upsetting the delicate natural pH balance necessary for soft, healthy skin. And, since we don't use animal oils, our soap rinses clean and leaves no soapy film behind. All our soap bases are produced from the highest quality double distilled and deodorized clear coconut oil, forming luxurious lather and sparkling clarity.
Usage: A two pound brick can make between 10 - 20 soaps, depending on the size of the soap you’re trying to make.

Caution: When making soaps it is good to remember that the Melt & Pour Bases contain water as part of the formula. So if they are left exposed to the atmosphere, the water will evaporate and the bar of soap will shrink. We would recommend fully wrapping the ENTIRE soap bar as soon as it is poured and cooled--this should minimize/eliminate any shrinkage.

You have to work up a good lather if that's important to you. I like it as is.... Cut off a piece and use. Although I just melted a poured one soap. Wow....once melted base becomes crystal clear! Neat! Holds aromatics well. Easy to work with - just cut out along scored lines.....

Thank you for this great soap base, I got it home about 3 weeks ago, I melted it and added grinded lavendar flowers and essential oil and grinded oatmeal, and the other one grinded chamomile flowers and lemon grass and some essential oils. My first M&P attempt. Was a hit at my daughter's 11th B-day party. All the girls made soap, lip balm (with NDA's lip balm base) and bath bombs. The soap itself needs a good working up to lather but is easy enough to use. Does 'sweat' quite alot even with no water added. All in all, a good purchase.

Great soap base. Happy to have something that I could make some soaps with for my six year old son. I worked wonderfully with my EO. I made several yellow lemon duckies to give out at Easter. Will order this again.

I was very disappointed with this soap base. I was hoping for clear, transparent colour but it is very cloudy. Not what I had hoped. I bought too much and will have to mix with Shea and Goat's Milk to get rid of it all. Will definitely stick with the Clear Glycerin base instead.

I really enjoyed using this product! I've had a chance to be creative with all sorts of essential oils and artificial fragrances, adding ground oatmeal, kaolin, honey, and/or oil, and I recently created a beautiful chai tea soap and found this product held the scent very well and also coloured quite naturally. I've also been very successful using this as a base for shaving cream! A great product, indeed!

I am so impressed with this soap. I am a first time melt and pour soap maker. I added 10 drops of various essential oils into each individual soap mold. This soap picked up the scents wonderfully, has great lather and feel to it. Love it!!! I'll be buying this again.

Love it! And it lathers great!! If you overload it then yes the lather will be reduced, as with ANY MP base. This is a staple in my products arsenal! ;)

Contrary to other peoples' reviews, I found this soap's lather to be reduced quite a bit, and adding certain essential oils kills the lather even further. I think the benefits outweigh the cons, however. This base has allowed me to create gentle soaps for young children and people with skin issues. (I've been told it doesn't aggravate psoriasis at all.) This was the first Stephenson's soap base I've dabbled with, and I look forward to trying others.

Thank you ND for offering an alternative to the toxic products out there! The more people using these types of things the more we can get the word out about what's really in the drugstore. I really can't tell the difference between this and a "regular" soap. It isn't any less foamy or bubbly. I found if I let the bar of soap harden a little in the air it lasts longer too.

I cannot tell you how thrilled I was with the results of using this SLS Free Soap! It is white in the block, but when melted and infused with my Aromatics & Flowers, it came out CRYSTAL CLEAR...gently colored only by the Ess. Oils. In addition, the 24Kt. Gold Mica that I used in my first Amber prototype soap, actually distributed evenly throughout the soap...no settling at the bottom! This amazing SLS Free soap registers 1000% on my scale!

This base is totally scent-free in its pure state. Takes additives beautifully, gorgeous lather, very gentle on the skin. My customers have noticed a big difference too in terms of longevity as well -- the finished product dissolves much less quickly. I've always told my customers not to let their soap sit in a puddle, but with this one, the lifespan is almost double of the other bases I've used. The packaging is brilliant, I love the fact that the 2 lb container is pre-scored into 4 separate pieces. Makes working with it a heck of a lot easier. I'm totally sold on this product. Two thumbs up!!
