Botanical Name: Cocos nucifera

Extraction Method: Heat Processed

Description: Fractionated Coconut Oil is liquid at room temperature. It differs from Regular Coconut Oil in that it is produced by heat rather then cold pressing. Many consider it to be very comparable to the characteristics of human skin. It is also used on oily skin as it will not clog pores. It can also be used as a treatment to condition dull or dry hair.

Color: Clear colorless liquid.

Aromatic Description: Fractionated Coconut Carrier Oil has no scent characteristic of most carrier oils

Common Uses: Fractionated Coconut Carrier Oil is used almost exclusively by cosmetic manufacturers.

Consistency: Typical and Characteristic of Carrier Oils.

Absorption: Fractionated Coconut produces a barrier on the skin, but will not clog pores.

Shelf Life: Fractionated Coconut oil is extremely resistant to breaking down and does not go rancid like other carrier oils. The shelf life is indefinite with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration is not needed.

Cautions: Allergic reactions to this oil is a possibility, though less so than regular coconut.

Have purchased this product a couple of times and will continue to do so. This oil does not give an oily feeling on the skin, nor in your hair. It is an amazing oil for those with dry, frizzy hair. Apply directly on damp hair ( a little goes a long way) and let your hair dry naturally, TADAH!, soft, silky, shiny hair with no frizz. You can also apply it to dry hair to tame frizz, without having oily looking hair (again, a little goes a long way). I use this oil in my shampoo lines and lotions and my customers love the final product.

I love this oil's super light, sweet aroma and it doesn't leave one's skin oily. I've used this in a couple of my favorite skin care recipes for the first and really liked the differences. I'm very happy with this product and will continue purchasing it.

This is a truly scentless oil. I've added to several products and especially love using it with bath salts. On its own it takes scent well and really gives a moisture boost to dry problem skin areas. I gave some to my friend and she has put it in a spritzer bottle and uses it as a daily moisturizer for her entire body.

Wonderful oil. I use it in my body butters. I made a try as a mask on my too dry hair and the results are very good. Versatile product. I have to learn again about it. Huile vraiment intéressante. I was reading the reviews on the fractionated coconut oil and came across the one that said it was not really an oil with no scent. It really does have no scent at all. It could be possible that you are reacting to the oil. It's not a bad thing but it is an annoyance. Very few people have this sort of reaction to fractionated coconut because of something in their system that causes it to smell sort of bitter. I would compare it to perfumes and how they smell very differently on different people. I have never heard of any bad reactions such as rash or otherwise so it's a very safe oil as far as that goes. New Directions price on coconut oil is very good but I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed white particles floating in their oil. I'm thinking it is the foam insert in the jug and because the oil is saturating it, it breaks down a little and it's hard to remove in one piece. It doesn't stay inside the cap but sticks to the lid of the jug. It is easily corrected when filtered with cheesecloth but it's a bit of an annoyance as well. Since I package in clear bottles it can be seen very clearly when taken out of the jug. Sandy

Good product. I'm still debating if it's correct to call this oil 'scentless.' It has a bitter aftersmell characteristic of some old fashioned soaps. Great feel though. If it was scentless to my nose i would give it a 5 star, but the scent is actually annoying .. especially if you're using the oil for natural perfumery. Ahh.. who's counting.. 5 stars anyways! wooooo

Fractionated Coconut oil is a very light oil. Since adding it to my body butter recipe my finished product is now less greasy!
