Botanical Name: Daucus Carota

Description: Carrot is a domesticated form of the wild carrot Daucus carota, native to Europe and southwestern Asia. It is a biennial plant which grows a rosette of leaves with an umbel of white flowers that produce the seeds. The oil is extracted from the seed using Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Extraction. This process is done at less than 35 degrees Celsius and only 99.9% of food grade carbon dioxide is used as solvent leaving no residual or chemical changes during production.

Color: Pale amber to reddish brown liquid.

Common Uses: Carrot Seed Essential Oil is considered one of the best oils for mature skin. It is believed to stimulate cell growth while removing toxins giving the skin a more toned, smooth and youthful appearance. It is reputed to be useful in treating scars, wounds and burns and there are those who believe it can be useful to reduce and even prevent wrinkles.
Carrot seed oil is helpful for arthritis, gout, edema, rheumatism and the accumulation of toxins in muscles and joints. It strengthens the mucus membranes in the nose, throat and lungs, thus has a beneficial effect on problems such as bronchitis and influenza.

Aromatic Scent: This oil has strong characteristic fruity somewhat musky odor.

History: The name is derived from the Greek 'Carotos' and had great medicinal value in ancient times, especially for its carminative properties.

Cautions: Non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitizing. Avoid use during pregnancy.

This CO2 Extraction smells amazing! Much sweeter and thicker in aroma than any Carrot Seed oil I've used before. Its one of my favourite oils for its amazing skin rejuvination and regeneration properties. Its fantastic in toning misters or facial lotions with Lavender and Patchouli, and even better for after sun care!!!

I had heard that Carrot Seed is good for mature skin, I will not go back to anything else now. Since I started using it in a cream base, I have really noticed the difference in the look, and feel of my skin, especially on my face. I just love it, mixed with Rosewood, the smell is wonderful..Enjoy
